Surah Al-Fil — Verse 3

Tafsir (Explanation):

After the army of the elephant—led by Abraha with his mighty war elephant—approached the Sacred House (the Kaaba) with the intent to destroy it, Allah responded with a decisive and miraculous punishment. He sent upon them birds in dense, successive flocks, unlike anything seen before or after. These birds did not merely fly over them; they were divinely commissioned soldiers. Each bird carried small stones of hardened clay—two in its claws and one in its beak—and released them upon the army. The stones struck every soldier, piercing through their armor and bodies, causing destruction and death. This was not a natural phenomenon but a clear sign of Allah’s absolute power and His protection of His sacred sanctuary.
