Explanation of the Verse:

This verse is part of the beautiful conversation between Prophet Ya'qub (Jacob, peace be upon him) and his beloved son Yusuf (Joseph, peace be upon him), after Yusuf narrated his remarkable dream of eleven stars, the sun, and the moon prostrating to him. His father, blessed with wisdom and insight, understood the profound implications of this vision and responded with words of reassurance, hope, and divine glad tidings.

Ya'qub said to his son: "Just as your Lord has shown you this great vision and honored you with it, so too will He choose you for Himself, elevate your rank, and bestow upon you the special gift of interpreting dreams and understanding the deeper meanings of events and people's visions. He will complete His favor upon you by granting you prophethood and leadership, and He will extend this favor to the entire family of Ya'qub, just as He completed it upon your forefathers Ibrahim (Abraham) and Ishaq (Isaac) before you, by making them prophets and chosen messengers."

This statement was not merely a father's hope; it was a prophecy filled with divine certainty. Indeed, Yusuf's life journey—from the well, to slavery, to prison, and finally to a position of immense power in Egypt—was a living testimony to this divine promise. His ability to interpret the king's dream led him to a position where his brothers, who had once thrown him into the well, came bowing before him, fulfilling the very dream he had seen as a child.

The verse concludes with a profound reminder: "Indeed, your Lord is All-Knowing, All-Wise." He knows precisely whom to choose for His mission, and His wisdom governs all His decisions. Nothing happens by chance; everything is part of a perfect divine plan.

A Call to Reflection and Action:

Dear reader, ponder deeply upon this verse. See how Allah, the Exalted, turned the trials of a young boy—betrayal by his own brothers, slavery, and imprisonment—into a path of honor and greatness. Yusuf's story teaches us that what appears to be hardship may actually be the very stepping stones to our elevation. When Allah chooses a servant, He prepares him through trials, purifies him through patience, and elevates him through faith.

Take comfort in knowing that your Lord is All-Knowing and All-Wise. He knows your struggles, your tears, and your silent prayers. He knows when to give and when to delay, when to test and when to bless. Trust His plan, for His knowledge encompasses all things, and His wisdom is beyond human comprehension.

Let this verse inspire you to remain steadfast in your faith, to hold firmly to hope even in the darkest moments, and to remember that Allah's favor is not limited by circumstances. Just as He completed His favor upon Yusuf, Ibrahim, and Ishaq, He can complete it upon you—if you remain patient, grateful, and devoted to Him.

And what greater favor is there than being chosen by Allah, guided by His light, and honored with His love? Strive to be among those whom Allah selects, by purifying your heart, seeking knowledge, and living a life of righteousness. For indeed, Allah is All-Knowing of those who deserve His choice, and All-Wise in how He brings His plan to fruition.

📜 Verse 4-8 — Yusuf

[Of these stories mention] when Joseph said to his father, "O my father, indeed I have seen [in a dream] eleven stars and the sun and the moon; I saw them prostrating to me."
He said, "O my son, do not relate your vision to your brothers or they will contrive against you a plan. Indeed Satan, to man, is a manifest enemy.
And thus will your Lord choose you and teach you the interpretation of narratives and complete His favor upon you and upon the family of Jacob, as He completed it upon your fathers before, Abraham and Isaac. Indeed, your Lord is Knowing and Wise."
Certainly were there in Joseph and his brothers signs for those who ask,
When they said, "Joseph and his brother are more beloved to our father than we, while we are a clan. Indeed, our father is in clear error.
