Explanation of the Verse:
O Messenger, say to those who reject your call and demand proofs: Allah alone is sufficient as a Witness between me and you. He bears witness to the truth of my prophethood and that I have conveyed to you the message He entrusted me with. His testimony is the ultimate proof, for He knows the reality of all matters—nothing escapes His knowledge. He is fully aware of the conditions of His servants, their intentions, their deeds, and the secrets of their hearts. He sees every action, whether done openly or in secret, and He will recompense each soul according to what it has earned—rewarding the righteous and holding the wrongdoers accountable.
This verse carries a profound reassurance for the believer: when people deny you, slander you, or reject the truth you bring, you need not despair. Allah is the Ever-Watchful Witness who sees your sincerity and their obstinacy. He knows the truth of your mission and the falsehood of their claims. And for the disbelievers, it is a solemn warning: their denial is not hidden from Allah, and their deeds are recorded before the One who misses nothing.
A Call to Reflection:
Dear reader, how comforting it is to know that the Creator of the heavens and the earth is fully aware of every struggle you face in standing for the truth! When you strive to do good and people accuse you falsely, remember that Allah sees your effort and knows your heart. When you call others to righteousness and they mock you, take solace in His perfect knowledge. He is the Witness whose testimony never fails, the Judge whose justice is absolute. Let this verse strengthen your trust in Him, increase your patience in adversity, and fill your heart with the certainty that nothing you do for His sake is ever lost. Indeed, Allah is Khabīr and Baṣīr—He knows, He sees, and He will never let your good deeds go to waste.
