Word Meanings:

  • أَهْلَكَ (ahlaka): Your family and household members.
  • وَاصْطَبِرْ (was-tabir): Be patient and steadfast, persevering with determination.
  • الْعَاقِبَةُ (al-‘āqibah): The final outcome and ultimate result.

Explanation of the Verse:

In this noble verse, Allah addresses His Prophet Muhammad ﷺ with a command that carries profound wisdom for every believer. He instructs him to enjoin prayer upon his family and household, and to remain patient and steadfast in performing it himself. This is not merely an individual duty—it is a call to build a home where the remembrance of Allah flourishes, where prayer becomes the anchor of daily life, and where children grow up connected to their Creator.

Allah then reassures His Prophet—and by extension, every believer—with a beautiful promise: "We do not ask you for provision; rather, We provide for you." This is a gentle reminder that our responsibility is to worship and obey Allah, while our sustenance, livelihood, and all material needs are guaranteed by Him alone. No one should ever worry that dedicating time to prayer will deprive them of their rizq (provision). On the contrary, Allah opens doors of blessing for those who prioritize their relationship with Him.

The verse concludes with a timeless principle: "And the final outcome is for those who have taqwa (God-consciousness)." This means that the ultimate success—in this world and the Hereafter—belongs not to those who chase wealth, status, or fleeting pleasures, but to those who live with awareness of Allah, fulfilling His commands and avoiding His prohibitions. The end of every matter is what truly counts, and that end is always in favor of the righteous.

A Call to Action for the Believer:

Dear Muslim, this verse carries a beautiful message of hope and tranquility. Allah is telling you: Do not carry the burden of provision on your shoulders—that is My promise and My responsibility. Your task is simpler and more noble: establish prayer in your home, be patient upon it, and trust in your Lord. When you make prayer the foundation of your family life, you are building a fortress of faith that will protect your loved ones from the trials of this world.

Imagine the peace that fills a home where the call to prayer is answered, where family members stand together before their Creator, and where hearts are connected to the source of all goodness. This is the path of the righteous, and its reward is certain. So take this verse as a personal invitation: prioritize your prayers, encourage your family to do the same, and rest assured that your provision is in the Hands of the Most Generous. The beautiful ending—success in this life and eternal bliss in the next—belongs to those who choose taqwa. Let that be your choice today, and every day.

📜 Verse 130-134 — Taha

So be patient over what they say and exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before its setting; and during periods of the night [exalt Him] and at the ends of the day, that you may be satisfied.
And do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [some] categories of them, [its being but] the splendor of worldly life by which We test them. And the provision of your Lord is better and more enduring.
And enjoin prayer upon your family [and people] and be steadfast therein. We ask you not for provision; We provide for you, and the [best] outcome is for [those of] righteousness.
And they say, "Why does he not bring us a sign from his Lord?" Has there not come to them evidence of what was in the former scriptures?
And if We had destroyed them with a punishment before him, they would have said, "Our Lord, why did You not send to us a messenger so we could have followed Your verses before we were humiliated and disgraced?"
