Translation — Tafsir

Word Meanings:

  • Jazaytuhum (I have rewarded them): I have given them the full recompense for their deeds.
  • Bima sabaru (Because of what they patiently endured): Due to their steadfast patience in obedience to Allah and in the face of harm.
  • Al-Fa'izun (The successful ones): Those who attain what they seek and are saved from what they fear.

Explanation of the Verse:

On that Great Day, when every soul stands before its Lord and the scales of justice are set, Allah Almighty declares that He has fully rewarded His believing servants with the everlasting bliss of Paradise. This reward is not a matter of chance or favoritism—it is the direct result of their patience. They patiently obeyed Allah's commands, patiently refrained from what He prohibited, and patiently endured the harm, mockery, and persecution they faced from the disbelievers. Because of that patient endurance, they have achieved the ultimate success: they are the ones who have won Paradise, escaped the Fire, and attained the pleasure of their Lord. Their patience was not in vain; it transformed their trials into treasures and their struggles into triumph.

A Call to Reflection and Action:

Dear reader, ponder this profound truth: the road to Paradise is paved with patience. Every difficulty you face for the sake of Allah—every word of mockery you bear, every temptation you resist, every hardship you endure while holding onto your faith—is being recorded and will be rewarded on a Day when no good deed is lost. The believers mentioned in this verse were not people of luxury or ease; they were people who held firm when the world turned against them. And look at their end: they are called "the successful ones" by the Lord of the Worlds Himself.

So, when trials come your way, do not see them as punishments. See them as opportunities to earn the same reward. Be patient in prayer, patient in truthfulness, patient in kindness, and patient in the face of harm. For the One who promised them victory and success is the same One who promises you—if you remain steadfast. Let this verse be a source of hope and strength: your patience today is the key to your success tomorrow, in this life and the next. And what a success that is—to hear your Lord say, "Indeed, you are the successful ones."

📜 Verse 109-113 — Al-Mu'minun

Indeed, there was a party of My servants who said, 'Our Lord, we have believed, so forgive us and have mercy upon us, and You are the best of the merciful.'
But you took them in mockery to the point that they made you forget My remembrance, and you used to laugh at them.
Indeed, I have rewarded them this Day for their patient endurance - that they are the attainers [of success]."
[Allah] will say, "How long did you remain on earth in number of years?"
They will say, "We remained a day or part of a day; ask those who enumerate."
