Translation — Tafsir

Word Meanings:

  • Nusāri'u lahum – We hasten for them / We speed up for them.
  • Al-Khayrāt – The good things (here referring to wealth, children, and worldly comforts).
  • Lā yash'urūn – They do not perceive / they are unaware.

Tafsir (Explanation):

Do these disbelievers, who take pride in the wealth and children We have granted them, truly imagine that what We provide for them in this worldly life is a sign of honor and a reward for their merit? That We are rushing good things to them because they are dear to Us? No — it is not as they assume. Rather, We are granting them these blessings as a gradual enticement and a test, drawing them closer to ruin while they remain oblivious. We give them respite, allowing them to sink deeper into their heedlessness, so that their account becomes heavier and their punishment more just. But they do not realize this at all; their hearts are veiled from the truth, and their minds are blinded by the very gifts that will become a source of regret for them.

This verse serves as a profound reminder for every believer: the abundance of worldly provisions is not necessarily a sign of divine pleasure. Allah may give to those He loves and to those He does not, as a means of testing patience and gratitude. For the believer, prosperity is an opportunity to give thanks and draw nearer to Allah; for the heedless, it is a rope of leniency that leads to a painful end. So do not be deceived by the glitter of this world, and do not envy those who have been given much while they disobey their Lord. Instead, look to the Hereafter, where the true reward awaits the patient and the grateful.

O servant of Allah, reflect on this divine wisdom and let it increase your awareness. When you see the wicked prospering, do not let your heart waver — for their increase is but a gradual descent. And when you face hardship, do not despair — for your trials may be a purification and an elevation in rank. Trust in Allah’s perfect plan, and know that He is the All-Wise, who grants and withholds as His infinite mercy dictates. May this understanding fill your heart with contentment and your life with sincere devotion, so that you may be among those who perceive the signs and hasten to what truly benefits them — the everlasting good of the Hereafter.
