Translation — Tafsir

Word Meanings:

  • Qurrata a'yun (قُرَّةِ أَعْيُنٍ): That which brings coolness and delight to the eyes — a metaphor for profound joy, contentment, and the ultimate happiness that fills the heart and soul.

Tafsir (Explanation):

No soul — not even the closest angel nor a sent prophet — can ever comprehend the magnificent delights and joys that Allah has secretly reserved for His righteous believers. These are treasures of happiness so immense, so exquisite, that they surpass every imagination and every description. The verse speaks of what has been *hidden* for them — a reward so great that its reality remains veiled from all creation. This joy is not merely physical pleasure; it is the deep, tranquil contentment of the heart and the radiance of the soul, granted as a fitting recompense for the deeds of faith, patience, and righteousness they performed in this worldly life. The reward is proportional to their sincere efforts — yet infinitely multiplied by Allah's boundless generosity.

A Da'wah Reflection:

O believer, let this verse ignite hope in your heart! Every tear you shed in sincere worship, every hardship you endured with patience, every temptation you resisted for Allah's sake — none of it is lost. Allah has stored for you a joy that no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no human heart has ever conceived. This is the promise of the Most Merciful, the Most Generous. So hasten to good deeds, compete in righteousness, and know that your Lord never forgets the smallest of your efforts. The sweetness of this world fades, but the delight He has concealed for you is eternal — a happiness that will never end, in a paradise where you will be forever pleased, and your Lord will be pleased with you. What greater joy could there be than this?

📜 Verse 15-19 — As-Sajdah

Only those believe in Our verses who, when they are reminded by them, fall down in prostration and exalt [Allah] with praise of their Lord, and they are not arrogant.
They arise from [their] beds; they supplicate their Lord in fear and aspiration, and from what We have provided them, they spend.
And no soul knows what has been hidden for them of comfort for eyes as reward for what they used to do.
Then is one who was a believer like one who was defiantly disobedient? They are not equal.
As for those who believed and did righteous deeds, for them will be the Gardens of Refuge as accommodation for what they used to do.
