Translation — Tafsir

Word Meanings:

  • Judad (جُدَد): Paths, streaks, or stripes within mountains, appearing as distinct layers or bands.
  • Gharabib (غَرَابِيب): Intensely black, likened to the color of crows (ghurab).

Tafsir (Explanation):

Have you not observed, with the eye of your heart and reflection, that Allah sends down water from the sky, and through it He brings forth fruits of varied colors—red, green, yellow, and many more? Each fruit, each shade, is a sign of His boundless power and wisdom. And in the mountains, He has placed streaks and pathways of white, red, and intensely black hues, differing in their tones and intensities. These are not random; they are deliberate, purposeful creations that display the artistry of the Almighty.

This verse invites you to look beyond the surface of nature and see the Hand of the Creator in every detail. The diversity in fruits and mountains is not merely for aesthetic pleasure—it is a living proof of Allah’s ability to create, to differentiate, and to beautify. Just as He colors the fruits and the mountains, He also colors the hearts of His servants: some with the light of faith, others with the darkness of heedlessness. Yet, He calls you to reflect, so that you may recognize His greatness and turn to Him in gratitude.

The water that descends from the sky revives the earth, and from that single source emerge fruits of every color and taste. Similarly, from the same earth rise mountains of different compositions and shades. This is a reminder that Allah, who is able to bring forth such variety from one element, is certainly able to resurrect you after death and reward or punish you according to your deeds. So, open your eyes, dear reader, and let every fruit you eat and every mountain you see remind you of the One who created them—and who created you for a purpose greater than this fleeting world.

Da‘wah Message:

This verse is a beautiful invitation to ponder the universe as a book of signs. When you see the colorful fruits and the striped mountains, let your heart whisper: "My Lord, You have created all this with perfect wisdom. How can I not worship You alone?" Islam teaches us that reflection is a form of worship, and every glance at nature can bring you closer to your Creator. So, take a moment today to look at the world around you—not with indifference, but with the eyes of a believer who sees Allah’s fingerprints everywhere. And know that the same Allah who colors the mountains and fruits is the One who hears your prayers and knows your every need. Turn to Him, and you will find peace.

📜 Verse 25-29 — Fatir

And if they deny you - then already have those before them denied. Their messengers came to them with clear proofs and written ordinances and with the enlightening Scripture.
Then I seized the ones who disbelieved, and how [terrible] was My reproach.
Do you not see that Allah sends down rain from the sky, and We produce thereby fruits of varying colors? And in the mountains are tracts, white and red of varying shades and [some] extremely black.
And among people and moving creatures and grazing livestock are various colors similarly. Only those fear Allah, from among His servants, who have knowledge. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Forgiving.
Indeed, those who recite the Book of Allah and establish prayer and spend [in His cause] out of what We have provided them, secretly and publicly, [can] expect a profit that will never perish -
