- لَمَسَخْنَاهُمْ (We would have transformed them): Changing their form and appearance into another creation, such as monkeys or swine.

Explanation of the Verse:
In this verse, Allah reminds His servants of His absolute power and sovereignty over all creation. He informs them that had He willed, He could have transformed them—changing their very forms and shapes into something utterly different, such as monkeys or swine—while they remained rooted in their places, frozen and immobile. In such a state, they would be completely powerless: unable to move forward, unable to retreat, and unable to return to their former condition. This is a stark warning to the disbelievers who rejected the truth and mocked the messengers, demonstrating that the One who created them from nothing is fully capable of humiliating them and stripping them of their strength and mobility in an instant.
The verse serves as a powerful reminder of Allah’s might and the fragility of human power. If Allah wills a thing, it happens without resistance, and no creature can escape His decree. The transformation mentioned here is not merely a physical punishment but a profound sign of Allah’s control over every aspect of existence—form, movement, and destiny. It also implies that the disbelievers’ stubbornness and denial of the Hereafter will not go unpunished; if Allah wished, He could punish them in this very world in a manner that leaves them utterly helpless, a fate far worse than any worldly trial.
Da'wah Reflection:
This verse calls upon every believer to reflect on the greatness of Allah and to submit to Him with humility and gratitude. If Allah can transform a human being into a lifeless or degraded form in the blink of an eye, then how can anyone feel secure in their own strength or arrogant in their defiance? It is an invitation to turn back to Allah in repentance before His punishment descends, and to appreciate the countless blessings He has given us—our form, our ability to move, our freedom—which we often take for granted. Let this verse be a source of awe and love: awe for His power, and love for His mercy in giving us time to seek His forgiveness. Indeed, Allah is patient with His servants, but His justice is swift when His patience is exhausted. Embrace the Qur'an, for it is the light that guides you to safety, and let every verse deepen your connection to your Creator, who is nearer to you than your own jugular vein.
