Word Meanings:

  • "Manannā" (مَنَنَّا): We bestowed Our favor and grace.
  • "Mūsā" (مُوسَىٰ): Prophet Moses, peace be upon him.
  • "Hārūn" (هَارُونَ): Prophet Aaron, his brother, peace be upon them both.

Explanation of the Verse:

In this noble verse, Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He) declares that He conferred a great favor and blessing upon His two noble prophets, Moses and Aaron (peace be upon them). This divine favor was the gift of prophethood and the sacred message — an honor that elevated them above all the people of their time. Through this blessing, Allah chose them to carry His revelation, to guide their people out of darkness into light, and to stand firm against the tyranny of Pharaoh.

This favor was not limited to the honor of prophethood alone; it also encompassed Allah's protection and deliverance. He saved them and the Children of Israel from the oppression of Pharaoh, from the humiliation of servitude, and from the peril of the sea when the waters parted by Allah's command. Thus, the blessing combined both spiritual elevation and physical salvation — a complete mercy from the Lord of the Worlds.

A Da'wah Reflection:

This verse reminds every believer of the boundless generosity of Allah. When Allah chooses to honor a servant, He grants them what no worldly treasure can match — closeness to Him and the privilege of being a means of guidance for others. The story of Moses and Aaron teaches us that true success lies not in wealth or status, but in being chosen by Allah for His service. It also instills hope in every Muslim: if Allah favored His prophets with such grace, then His mercy is open to all who sincerely seek Him. Let us strive to be among those who carry the message of truth with patience and devotion, knowing that Allah's favor is the greatest gift one can ever attain. And let us remember that with every trial, Allah's help and blessings are near for those who remain steadfast in faith.

📜 Verse 112-116 — As-Saffat

And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous.
And We blessed him and Isaac. But among their descendants is the doer of good and the clearly unjust to himself.
And We did certainly confer favor upon Moses and Aaron.
And We saved them and their people from the great affliction,
And We supported them so it was they who overcame.
