Translation — Tafsir

Word Meanings:

  • Yashhadu (يَشْهَدُ): Bears witness, testifies, affirms with certainty.
  • Bi'ilmihi (بِعِلْمِهِ): With His knowledge — meaning Allah sent it out of His perfect wisdom and knowledge, knowing exactly what He was revealing and to whom.
  • Shahidan (شَهِيدًا): A witness, one whose testimony is sufficient and conclusive.

Tafsir (Explanation):

O noble Messenger, if the People of the Book and others deny you and reject the truth you have brought, let not their rejection grieve you — for Allah Himself bears witness to what He has revealed to you. He sent down the Qur'an upon you, and He did so with His complete and perfect knowledge — knowing that you are worthy of this great trust, that you are the seal of His prophets, and that you will convey His message faithfully and completely. His knowledge encompasses all that the Qur'an contains — what He loves and is pleased with, and what He abhors and forbids.

And not only does Allah testify to your truthfulness, but His noble angels also bear witness to the authenticity of what has been revealed to you. They witnessed the revelation descending upon your heart, and they affirm the truth of your message.

Yet, the testimony of Allah alone is sufficient — for who is more truthful in testimony than Allah? His witness is complete, perfect, and beyond any doubt or question. When the Creator of the heavens and the earth testifies to something, no denial from any creature can diminish its truth.

A Call to Reflection:

Dear reader, ponder the magnificence of this verse! The Almighty Allah — the Lord of all worlds — personally testifies to the truth of this Qur'an and the prophethood of Muhammad (peace be upon him). When the Creator Himself vouches for something, what more proof could any sincere seeker of truth require? The angels — those pure and noble beings — join in this testimony. This is not a claim made by a human being about himself; it is a divine affirmation from the One who knows all things.

So let every heart that seeks certainty find it here — in the testimony of Allah and His angels. And let every soul that doubts know that the Qur'an is not the word of a man, but the speech of the Lord of the worlds, revealed with His knowledge, protected by His promise, and witnessed by His angels. This is the truth that sets hearts free and guides them to the straight path. Will you not be among those who accept this divine witness and submit to its guidance?

📜 Verse 164-168 — An-Nisa

And [We sent] messengers about whom We have related [their stories] to you before and messengers about whom We have not related to you. And Allah spoke to Moses with [direct] speech.
[We sent] messengers as bringers of good tidings and warners so that mankind will have no argument against Allah after the messengers. And ever is Allah Exalted in Might and Wise.
But Allah bears witness to that which He has revealed to you. He has sent it down with His knowledge, and the angels bear witness [as well]. And sufficient is Allah as Witness.
Indeed, those who disbelieve and avert [people] from the way of Allah have certainly gone far astray.
Indeed, those who disbelieve and commit wrong [or injustice] - never will Allah forgive them, nor will He guide them to a path.
