Translation — Tafsir

Word Meanings:

  • بِمُعْجِزِينَ (bi-mu'jizeen): Those who can escape or frustrate Allah's power; those who can render Allah unable to reach them or seize them.
  • وَلِيٍّ (waliyy): A protector, guardian, or one who takes charge of your affairs and brings you benefit.
  • نَصِيرٍ (naseer): A helper or supporter who defends you and wards off harm from you.

Explanation of the Verse:

O people, you are not able to escape Allah's power or frustrate His will anywhere on this earth. Wherever you may flee or however you may try to hide, you can never outrun His reach or evade His judgment. If He wills to punish you for your sins, no place on earth can serve as a refuge for you. And besides Allah, you have no guardian who can take charge of your affairs and secure benefits for you, nor any helper who can shield you from harm or repel the punishment that He has decreed. Your protection, your provision, and your salvation all lie solely in His hands — there is no other source of safety or support.

A Da'wah Reflection:

This verse carries a profound message of hope and accountability. On one hand, it reminds us that we can never escape Allah — but this is not a message of fear alone; rather, it is a message of closeness. If you cannot flee from Allah, then know that Allah is always with you, always aware of your state, always ready to respond when you call upon Him. The same Lord who is capable of seizing you is also capable of saving you. The verse teaches us that our true protector and helper is Allah alone — so turn to Him, rely on Him, and place your trust in Him. When you realize that no one else can truly benefit or harm you, your heart becomes free from the fear of creation and attached only to the Creator. This is the essence of true faith: to know that Allah is your only Wali (guardian) and your only Naseer (helper). So call upon Him in your times of need, for He is the One who never abandons those who seek His help.

📜 Verse 29-33 — Ash-Shura

And of his signs is the creation of the heavens and earth and what He has dispersed throughout them of creatures. And He, for gathering them when He wills, is competent.
And whatever strikes you of disaster - it is for what your hands have earned; but He pardons much.
And you will not cause failure [to Allah] upon the earth. And you have not besides Allah any protector or helper.
And of His signs are the ships in the sea, like mountains.
If He willed, He could still the wind, and they would remain motionless on its surface. Indeed in that are signs for everyone patient and grateful.
