Surah Qaf — Verse 7

Tafsir (Explanation):

In this verse, Allah draws our attention to the earth beneath our feet as a living proof of His power and mercy. He says: "And the earth—We spread it out." This means He expanded it, flattened it, and made it suitable for human habitation, agriculture, and all forms of life. Despite being a sphere, He made its surface appear level and manageable for us, so we can walk, build, and cultivate with ease.

Then He says: "And We placed therein firm mountains." These mountains act as stabilizers, preventing the earth from shaking and swaying with its inhabitants. They are like pegs that hold the ground steady, ensuring a secure and peaceful existence for all living beings. This is a profound sign of Allah's meticulous design and care for His creation.

Finally, He says: "And We caused to grow therein every beautiful kind." From the soil, He brings forth an astonishing variety of plants, trees, fruits, and flowers—each with its own unique color, shape, fragrance, and benefit. Some nourish us as food, others heal us as medicine, and many simply delight our senses with their beauty. The word "bahīj" captures the essence of this: vegetation that is not only useful but also aesthetically pleasing, filling the heart with joy and the soul with gratitude.

Dear reader, pause for a moment and look around you. The earth you stand on, the mountains that guard it, and the gardens that adorn it—all of these are not random accidents of nature. They are deliberate, loving acts of a Creator who wants you to see His greatness and feel His closeness. Every time you see a blooming flower or taste a fresh fruit, remember that it is a gift from Allah, a sign pointing to His existence, His wisdom, and His boundless mercy.

So let your heart soften, your eyes open, and your tongue utter: *SubhanAllah* (Glory be to Allah)! For in every leaf that dances in the wind and every mountain that stands firm, there is a message for those who reflect. This is the beauty of Islam—it invites you to see the divine in the ordinary, to turn every moment of observation into an act of worship, and to fill your life with gratitude and wonder.
