Explanation of the Verse:
O Messenger, leave these disbelievers alone in their stubbornness, arrogance, and denial of the truth. Do not grieve over their rejection or exhaust yourself trying to convince them beyond what you have already conveyed. Their matter is with Allah, and their end is inevitable. They will soon meet their appointed Day—the Day of Resurrection—when they will be struck by the first blast of the Trumpet, a moment of sheer terror and utter destruction. On that Day, every soul will be seized by a force beyond imagination; the heavens will split, the mountains will crumble, and all who denied the truth will face the reality they once mocked. This is not a threat of this world's fleeting punishment, but a certainty of the Hereafter—a Day when no plea, no wealth, and no power can save them.
This verse carries a profound lesson for every believer: the disbelievers' delay in punishment is not a sign of neglect, but a divine mercy granting them time to reflect and repent. Yet, for those who persist in rejection, the encounter with that Day is unavoidable. As a believer, your duty is not to force faith into hearts—that is Allah's domain—but to deliver the message with sincerity and patience. The Qur'an repeatedly comforts the Prophet ﷺ and his followers, reminding them that the ultimate victory belongs to the truth, and the reckoning of the wrongdoers is with the All-Knowing, All-Just.
So, take heart in this divine reassurance. Do not let the mockery or opposition of the disbelievers weigh you down. Their time is limited, and their end is sealed. Focus on your own growth in faith, on spreading goodness, and on trusting Allah's perfect plan. The Day they will meet is nearer than they think, and on that Day, the scales of justice will be set, and every soul will reap what it has sown. May Allah guide us all to the straight path and protect us from the terror of that Day.
