Translation — Tafsir

Word Meanings:

  • Kaiduhum (كَيْدُهُمْ): Their cunning, scheming, or plotting—referring to the plans and conspiracies they devised in this world to oppose the truth and protect themselves from punishment.
  • Yughni (يُغْنِي): To avail, benefit, or suffice—meaning to ward off or repel something.
  • Yunsaroon (يُنصَرُونَ): They are helped or aided—specifically, to be rescued or saved from harm.

Tafsir (Explanation):

On that Day—the Day of Judgment—all the cunning schemes and elaborate plots that the disbelievers devised in the worldly life will prove utterly useless. Their strategies to escape the truth, their alliances, their wealth, and their power will not avail them in the slightest. Not even a fraction of their planning will shield them from the punishment of Allah. Moreover, there will be no one to come to their aid—no supporter, no intercessor, and no protector who can rescue them from the divine torment that awaits them. They will stand alone, stripped of every defense, facing the absolute justice of their Lord.

A Da'wah Reflection:

This verse serves as a profound reminder of the ultimate reality that every human being will face. No matter how powerful, wealthy, or cunning a person may be in this world, all of that will vanish on the Day when only deeds and faith will matter. How often do we see people relying on their intelligence, connections, or resources to navigate life—yet on that Day, none of these will help. This is an invitation to reflect: if we place our trust in Allah alone, and live our lives in obedience to Him, we will never need to fear that Day. For the believers, Allah has promised His help and protection both in this world and the Hereafter. Let this verse inspire us to abandon all false reliance on worldly means and turn wholeheartedly to the One who holds all power—the Only One who can truly save us. The Qur'an repeatedly calls us to this truth, not to frighten us, but to guide us toward the path of everlasting success. So let us be among those who prepare for that Day with sincere faith and righteous deeds, for they will be the ones who are truly helped and honored.

📜 Verse 44-48 — At-Tur

And if they were to see a fragment from the sky falling, they would say, "[It is merely] clouds heaped up."
So leave them until they meet their Day in which they will be struck insensible -
The Day their plan will not avail them at all, nor will they be helped.
And indeed, for those who have wronged is a punishment before that, but most of them do not know.
And be patient, [O Muhammad], for the decision of your Lord, for indeed, you are in Our eyes. And exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord when you arise.
