Tafsir (Explanation):

After the owners of the garden plotted to harvest its fruits secretly at dawn, denying the poor and the needy their due share, Allah sent a fire upon it during the night while they were asleep. By the time morning came, the garden had become like *al-sareem*—utterly black, scorched, and desolate, resembling the pitch-darkness of a moonless night. Its lush greenery had turned to ash, its fruits were gone, and all traces of its former abundance were erased in a single stroke. The very thing they had schemed to protect was taken from them entirely, and their greed left them with nothing but loss and regret.

This verse is a profound reminder of Allah’s absolute power and His swift justice. Those who hoard their wealth and ignore the rights of others may think they are secure in their plans, but Allah’s decree overtakes all schemes.
