Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- Mūhin (مُوهِنُ): The One who weakens, undermines, and causes to collapse.
- Kayd (كَيْدِ): Plot, scheme, cunning plan, or deception.
Explanation of the Verse:
This verse follows the account of the Battle of Badr, where Allah granted the believers a decisive victory over the polytheists despite their smaller numbers and limited weaponry. The phrase "That is for you" refers to all that Allah bestowed upon the believers—the slaying of the disbelievers, their defeat and retreat, and the manifest triumph that came as a mercy and honor from Him alone. It was not by the believers' own strength or strategy, but by Allah's will and support.
Then the verse adds a profound and reassuring truth: "And Allah is the One who weakens the plot of the disbelievers." This means that Allah, in His infinite wisdom and power, continuously undermines and nullifies every scheme the disbelievers devise against Islam and its people. No matter how cunning, well-planned, or resourceful their plots may be, Allah causes them to collapse—either by exposing their plans, turning their schemes against them, or bringing about their humiliation and ruin. Their deception may seem strong for a time, but it is ultimately fragile and doomed to fail, while the truth of Allah prevails.
This verse carries a timeless lesson for every believer: the victory of truth over falsehood is not a matter of numbers, wealth, or worldly power—it is a matter of Allah's decree. When you place your trust in Allah and remain steadfast upon His path, He will defend you and dismantle the conspiracies of your enemies, just as He did for the early Muslims at Badr.
A Call to Reflection and Action:
Dear believer, let this verse fill your heart with certainty and tranquility. The disbelievers of today, just like those of the past, may gather their forces and weave their plots, but Allah has already declared that He will weaken their schemes. So do not fear their numbers or their might—fear Allah alone, and He will grant you victory in ways you never imagined. Hold firmly to your faith, act with sincerity, and trust in Allah's promise. For the end is always for the righteous, and the plots of the disbelievers are but a vanishing shadow before the light of Allah's power.
