Explanation of the Verse:
O Messenger of Allah, Allah did not send down the Qur'an upon you as a mere recitation or a book to be read without purpose. Rather, its primary and essential purpose is that you may make clear to all of humanity the very matters over which they have fallen into dispute and disagreement. These disputes include the fundamental questions of faith—the oneness of Allah, the reality of the resurrection, the truth of prophethood—as well as the detailed rulings of the sacred law that govern human life. Through your explanation, the proof of Allah is established against all people, leaving them without excuse before their Lord.
And this Qur'an, with your clarification of it, is not only a means of settling disputes—it is also a source of guidance and mercy for those who believe. The believers are the ones who truly benefit from it, because they open their hearts to its truth, act upon its commands, and find in it the light that illuminates their path in this life and the next. As for those who turn away, they only harm themselves, for the Qur'an remains a mercy for those who accept it, while it stands as a proof against those who reject it.
A Call to Reflection and Action:
Dear reader, reflect on the profound wisdom of this verse. Allah, in His infinite mercy, did not leave humanity to wander in confusion and division. He sent down this glorious Book and sent His beloved Messenger ﷺ to explain it with his words, his actions, and his noble character. Every difference of opinion among people—whether about God, about the purpose of life, or about what is right and wrong—finds its resolution in the clear guidance of the Qur'an and the authentic explanation of the Prophet ﷺ.
This is a mercy that calls you today, just as it called the first generation of Muslims. The Qur'an is not a book of the past; it is a living guidance for the present and the future. Whoever holds fast to it and follows the explanation of the Prophet ﷺ will never be lost, never be confused, and never be deprived of Allah's mercy. Open your heart to it, and you will find in it the answers your soul has been searching for, the peace your heart longs for, and the path that leads to eternal success. This is the mercy of your Lord—so do not turn away from it, and do not let the differences of this world distract you from the truth that brings unity and salvation.
