Surah Al-Isra — Verse 47

Tafsir (Explanation):

Allah, the Most High, declares that He alone possesses complete and perfect knowledge of the true intentions and motives behind the listening of the disbelieving leaders of Quraysh when they come near you, O Prophet, to hear the Qur'an. Their listening is not driven by a sincere desire for guidance or acceptance of the truth; rather, they listen with hearts full of mockery, seeking to find faults and to engage in frivolous talk while you recite. Allah knows their hidden whispers and secret counsels, and He is fully aware of their plots to reject the message and to turn others away from it.

At that very moment, when they gather privately in hushed tones, these wrongdoers—who have oppressed their own souls through disbelief—say to their followers and to the people: "You are following nothing but a man who is bewitched, whose mind has been clouded by magic, and whose speech is confused." They likened the Prophet's message, which they claimed was madness and corrupted words, to the state of a person whose intellect has been impaired by sorcery. Yet, in truth, it is they who are blinded by their arrogance and stubbornness, unable to perceive the clarity and brilliance of the revelation.

This verse serves as a profound consolation to the Prophet and to the believers, reminding them that Allah is fully aware of every scheme and whisper of the disbelievers. Nothing escapes His knowledge, and He will surely recompense them for their mockery and false accusations. It also carries a timeless lesson for all of humanity: the enemies of truth will always resort to falsehood and slander to discredit the message, but the believer must remain steadfast, knowing that Allah's knowledge encompasses all, and His justice will prevail. Let this be a source of strength and patience for every Muslim who faces ridicule or rejection—for Allah sees all, hears all, and His promise of victory for the truth is certain.
