Word Meanings:

  • "Wanaza'a" (وَنَزَعَ): He pulled out or withdrew.
  • "Yadahu" (يَدَهُ): His hand.
  • "Baydaa" (بَيْضَاءُ): White, shining with radiant light.
  • "Lilnnathireen" (لِلنَّاظِرِينَ): For those who look/behold.

Explanation of the Verse:

After Musa (peace be upon him) cast his staff and it became a real, living serpent—not an illusion or trickery as the magicians performed—Allah commanded him to place his hand into his garment. When he withdrew it, his hand appeared radiantly white, glowing with a brilliant, luminous light. This whiteness was not the whiteness of leprosy or any skin disease; rather, it was a supernatural, dazzling light that shone brightly, captivating and astonishing all who witnessed it. The verse emphasizes that this miracle was visible and undeniable to every onlooker, leaving no room for doubt or denial. It was a clear sign of Allah's power, granted to His prophet as proof of his truthfulness before Pharaoh and his court.

Da'wah Reflection:

This verse reminds us of the profound truth that Allah, the Almighty, is the Creator of all things and the One who transforms circumstances in ways beyond human comprehension. Just as Musa's hand turned from ordinary to radiant at Allah's command, so too can Allah illuminate our hearts with the light of faith, guidance, and certainty. When we witness the miracles of the prophets, we are invited to reflect on the greatness of the One who sent them. The staff and the hand were not magical tricks but divine signs, calling humanity to submit to the Lord of all worlds. Today, the greatest miracle we hold is the Qur'an itself—a living, eternal guidance that enlightens hearts and minds. Let us open our eyes to its light, just as the onlookers opened their eyes to the radiant hand of Musa, and let us respond with faith and obedience, for Allah's signs are always before us, inviting us to the path of truth and salvation.
