Key Words and Meanings:

  • Subḥāna Allah (سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ): Declaring Allah free from all imperfections, defects, and anything unworthy of His majesty; glorifying and exalting Him above every deficiency.
  • Tumsūn (تُمْسُونَ): When you enter the time of evening, i.e., the period of Maghrib and Isha.
  • Tuṣbiḥūn (تُصْبِحُونَ): When you enter the time of morning, i.e., the period of Fajr.

Explanation of the Verse:

O believers, glorify Allah and declare Him free from every imperfection—from having a partner, a spouse, a child, or any attribute that does not befit His majesty. Describe Him with the attributes of perfection, not only with your tongues but by embodying that devotion in all your actions and limbs. This glorification is due at two key times: when you enter the evening, which corresponds to the Maghrib and Isha prayers, and when you enter the morning, which corresponds to the Fajr prayer.

This verse beautifully teaches us that the believer’s day is framed by the remembrance of Allah. From the moment the sun sets and darkness begins to spread, to the moment the dawn breaks and light returns, your heart should be connected to your Lord. The evening glorification is a shield against the fears of the night, and the morning glorification is a source of strength and hope for the day ahead. By making tasbīḥ (glorification) a constant companion, you transform your daily routine into an act of worship, and you align your soul with the angels who also glorify Him day and night. This is not merely a ritual—it is a lifeline that fills your heart with peace, purifies your soul from arrogance and heedlessness, and draws you closer to the Most Merciful. And to Allah belongs all praise and gratitude in the heavens and the earth, in the night and in the day—so let your tongue never grow tired of glorifying Him, for in that remembrance lies true success and tranquility.

📜 Verse 15-19 — Ar-Rum

And as for those who had believed and done righteous deeds, they will be in a garden [of Paradise], delighted.
But as for those who disbelieved and denied Our verses and the meeting of the Hereafter, those will be brought into the punishment [to remain].
So exalted is Allah when you reach the evening and when you reach the morning.
And to Him is [due all] praise throughout the heavens and the earth. And [exalted is He] at night and when you are at noon.
He brings the living out of the dead and brings the dead out of the living and brings to life the earth after its lifelessness. And thus will you be brought out.
