Key Words and Phrases:

  • "Li-yajziya" (لِيَجْزِيَ): So that He may reward or recompense.
  • "Alladhīna āmanū" (الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا): Those who believed (in Allah and His Messenger).
  • "Wa ʿamilū al-ṣāliḥāt" (وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ): And performed righteous deeds — actions that are pleasing to Allah and in accordance with His guidance.
  • "Min faḍlihī" (مِن فَضْلِهِ): From His bounty and grace — meaning this reward is not merely a wage for work done, but a generous gift from Allah’s infinite favor.
  • "Lā yuḥibbu al-kāfirīn" (لَا يُحِبُّ الْكَافِرِينَ): He does not love the disbelievers — a statement of His displeasure and wrath toward those who reject faith.

Explanation of the Verse:

This verse reveals the ultimate purpose behind the events of this world and the Day of Judgment: that Allah, in His perfect wisdom and justice, will reward those who believed in Him with sincere hearts and backed their faith with righteous actions. Their reward is not a mere transaction — it is an outpouring of His immense grace and bounty, far greater than what their deeds alone could ever merit. Every good deed they performed, every hardship they endured for His sake, and every sincere step they took toward Him will be met with generosity that surpasses imagination.

The verse then draws a clear and decisive contrast: Allah does not love the disbelievers. This is not merely a statement of dislike, but a declaration of His divine displeasure and anger toward those who reject His signs, deny His messengers, and persist in arrogance and ingratitude. Their end is not the bounty of His reward, but the consequence of their own rejection — a painful reality that they have chosen for themselves.

This verse carries a profound message of hope and warning. For the believers, it is a source of immense comfort: their efforts are never lost, and their Lord sees every sacrifice and will reward them from His boundless favor. For those who turn away, it is a gentle yet firm call to reflect — for the One who loves the righteous and rewards them generously is also the One who does not love those who persist in disbelief. The door of repentance remains open, and the mercy of Allah is vast, but the choice is theirs to make before the day when every soul will face the truth of what it has sent forth.

A Daʿwah Reflection:

Dear reader, ponder this beautiful promise: Allah does not say He will merely "pay" the believers for their deeds — He says He will reward them *from His bounty*. This means the reward is not measured by the scale of your actions, but by the vastness of His generosity. A single sincere prayer, a single act of kindness, a single tear shed in humility before Him — all of it is met with a treasure that never ends. So do not underestimate your good deeds, however small they may seem. And if you find yourself distant from faith, know that His love and mercy are closer to you than your own vein. Return to Him, and you will find a Lord who does not reject a sincere heart, but who rewards it beyond all measure.

📜 Verse 43-47 — Ar-Rum

So direct your face toward the correct religion before a Day comes from Allah of which there is no repelling. That Day, they will be divided.
Whoever disbelieves - upon him is [the consequence of] his disbelief. And whoever does righteousness - they are for themselves preparing,
That He may reward those who have believed and done righteous deeds out of His bounty. Indeed, He does not like the disbelievers.
And of His signs is that He sends the winds as bringers of good tidings and to let you taste His mercy and so the ships may sail at His command and so you may seek of His bounty, and perhaps you will be grateful.
And We have already sent messengers before you to their peoples, and they came to them with clear evidences; then We took retribution from those who committed crimes, and incumbent upon Us was support of the believers.
