Surah As-Sajdah — Verse 11

Explanation of the Verse:

O Prophet, say to those who deny the resurrection and mock the idea of life after death: The Angel of Death, whom Allah has appointed over you, will take your souls when your appointed time arrives. He does not delay it for a single moment, nor does he hasten it before its time. Every one of you will taste death, and no one can escape this decree. Then, after your death, you will all be returned to your Lord — the One who created you, sustained you, and knows all that you have done. He will raise you from your graves and gather you before Him for the final reckoning. There, He will reward you according to your deeds: if they were good, you will receive good; if they were evil, you will face the consequences.

This verse is a profound reminder that death is not the end of the journey, but rather a transition to a greater reality. The Angel of Death is merely a servant executing the command of Allah, and the return to Allah is certain and inevitable. Reflect on this: your life in this world is temporary, and every breath you take brings you closer to that appointed meeting with your Lord. So prepare for that day with sincere repentance, righteous actions, and a heart attached to Allah. Do not let the distractions of this world make you forget the purpose of your existence — for you were created to worship Allah and to return to Him in a state of submission and peace.
