Translation — Tafsir

Word Meanings:

  • جَاءَ بِالْحَقِّ (came with the truth): He brought the absolute truth, which is the Quran and the pure message of monotheism (Tawhid).
  • صَدَّقَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ (confirmed the messengers): He affirmed and validated all the previous messengers and what they brought from Allah.

Explanation of the Verse:

The disbelievers of Quraysh accused the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) of being a madman and a poet, fabricating lies against Allah. Allah responds to their false accusations with a decisive rebuttal: the Prophet did not come with falsehood or imagination—rather, he came with the absolute truth. This truth is the Quran, which calls to the oneness of Allah, sincere worship of Him alone, and obedience to His Messenger.

Moreover, the Prophet did not introduce a new or alien religion that contradicted what came before. Instead, he confirmed and affirmed all the previous messengers—from Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus (peace be upon them all)—and the core message they all carried: the worship of Allah alone, the reality of the Hereafter, and the promise of reward and punishment. He did not deviate from their path in any way; rather, he was the seal and culmination of their mission, bringing the final and complete revelation.

This verse carries a profound lesson for every believer: the truth is one and unchanging. All the prophets came with the same essential message, and the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was the final link in that golden chain of divine guidance. So when you embrace Islam, you are not merely following one prophet—you are following all the prophets of Allah, from the first to the last. This is the beauty and universality of this faith: it is not a new invention, but the completion of a single, continuous divine message that has always called humanity to goodness, justice, and the worship of the One True God.

Dear reader, reflect on this: the truth that the Prophet brought is the same truth that every soul yearns for—a connection with its Creator, a purpose in life, and a hope for eternal success. Open your heart to this truth, and you will find peace that no worldly distraction can provide. The Prophet confirmed the messengers before him, and he is the final messenger to you and me. Let us honor his message by following it, and let us honor the previous messengers by embracing the one who confirmed them all.

📜 Verse 35-39 — As-Saffat

Indeed they, when it was said to them, "There is no deity but Allah," were arrogant
And were saying, "Are we to leave our gods for a mad poet?"
Rather, the Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers.
Indeed, you [disbelievers] will be tasters of the painful punishment,
And you will not be recompensed except for what you used to do -
