Explanation of the Verse:
When the Pharaoh and his people persisted in their arrogance, disbelief, and outright rejection of Moses (peace be upon him) and the clear signs Allah had sent with him, they crossed every limit. They did not merely disbelieve—they provoked Allah’s wrath through their continuous defiance, their mockery of the truth, and their oppression of the Children of Israel. At that point, divine justice demanded a decisive response. Allah took retribution from them by sending a punishment that was both swift and absolute: He drowned them all in the sea. Not a single one of them survived—neither their mighty armies, nor their proud leaders, nor their fortified power. The very sea that they thought would be their escape became the instrument of their destruction, and the tyrant Pharaoh, who once declared himself a god, was swallowed by the waves along with his entire host.
This verse carries a profound lesson for every generation. It reminds us that no power, no wealth, and no worldly might can shield anyone from the justice of Allah when His patience runs out after repeated warnings. The story of Pharaoh is not merely history—it is a living sign. The same fate awaits every tyrant and every people who persist in rejecting the truth after it has been made clear to them. Yet, at the same time, it is a message of hope for the believers: Allah never abandons His righteous servants. Just as He saved Moses and his followers, He will always make a way out for those who trust in Him, even when the enemy seems overwhelming. So let this verse strengthen your faith, increase your gratitude for the guidance you have received, and inspire you to remain steadfast on the path of truth, knowing that the final victory belongs to Allah and His sincere servants.
