Surah At-Tur — Verse 13

Word Meanings:

• يُدَعُّونَ (Yuda''oon): They are pushed, thrust, or driven with force and harshness.
• دَعًّا (Da''an): A violent, rough pushing that involves humiliation and severity.

Tafsir (Explanation):

On that Day, the disbelievers who rejected the truth will be driven to the blazing Fire of Hell with extreme force and violence. They will not walk on their own; rather, they will be shoved and thrust forward by the angels of punishment, who will push them from behind with roughness and disdain, treating them with utter humiliation and disgrace. This is not a gentle gathering but a brutal herding of those who once arrogantly turned away from Allah's signs and mocked His messengers. As they are being dragged toward the Fire, they will be rebuked with words that cut through their souls: "This is the very Fire you used to deny and mock in the worldly life!" Their punishment will be twofold: the physical torment of the flames and the psychological agony of being reminded of their former denial while facing its dire consequence.

Dear reader, pause and reflect on this powerful scene! Allah, the Most Merciful, has not created Hell to frighten us without purpose, but to awaken our hearts before it is too late. Today, in this worldly life, you have the precious opportunity to turn to your Lord, to seek His forgiveness, and to walk the path of righteousness with ease and dignity. The choice is entirely yours: either you walk toward Allah willingly in this life, with humility and love, or you will be pushed toward His punishment unwillingly on that Day. The Qur'an is your guide, the Prophet ﷺ is your example, and every breath you take is an invitation to return to your Creator. Do not wait until the angels are the ones pushing you—come to Allah now, and He will come to you with mercy, honor, and eternal bliss.
