Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- Yatūfu (يَطُوفُ): To go around, to circulate, to move about serving.
- Wildān (وِلْدَانٌ): Young boys, servants, or youths.
- Mukhalladūn (مُخَلَّدُونَ): Made eternal, immortal, never aging, never dying, and never changing.
Tafsir (Explanation):
In this magnificent verse, Allah describes a scene of eternal bliss in Paradise, where the blessed believers are attended to by immortal youths—servants who never grow old, never weaken, and never pass away. These young servants circulate among the dwellers of Paradise, offering them exquisite drinks and delights from flowing springs of pure wine that causes no headache and does not impair the mind. The word "mukhalladūn" carries a profound meaning: these servants are preserved in a state of perpetual youth and vitality, untouched by the passage of time, for Paradise is a realm where perfection is everlasting and every moment is filled with joy and comfort.
This imagery serves to elevate the believer's longing for Paradise—a place where even the servants are eternal and flawless, let alone the rewards and pleasures that await the righteous. The scene reflects Allah's immense generosity and care for His faithful servants, sparing them from any form of toil or hardship, and surrounding them with beauty and ease beyond imagination.
A Da'wah Reflection:
Dear reader, ponder this: if the attendants in Paradise are so honored with immortality and perfection, what then must be the state of the dwellers themselves? This verse invites you to strive for that eternal abode, where every need is met, every desire is fulfilled, and peace reigns supreme. The Qur'an paints this vivid picture to awaken in your heart a sincere yearning for Allah's mercy and to motivate you to walk the path of righteousness. Let this glimpse of Paradise inspire you to draw closer to your Creator, for He has prepared for His beloved servants what no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no human heart has ever conceived. Embrace the faith, hold fast to good deeds, and trust in Allah's promise—for His reward is truly magnificent and everlasting.
