Surah Al-Qalam — Verse 6

Tafsir (Explanation):

In this verse, Allah addresses His Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the disbelievers who accused him of madness. The meaning is: "You will soon come to know, O Prophet, and so will the disbelievers, which of you is truly afflicted with insanity and confusion."

The verse challenges the false accusations leveled by the polytheists of Quraysh, who claimed that the Prophet was a madman. Allah turns the accusation back upon them, declaring that the truth will soon be unveiled, and it will become crystal clear that the real madness lies with those who reject the truth, not with the one who carries the divine message.

The *ba* (ب) in *bi-ayyikum* serves to emphasize the connection – meaning, "It is upon which of the two sides does the madness truly fall?" – whether upon Muhammad and his noble companions, who follow guidance and light, or upon Abu Jahl and his allies, who persist in arrogance and disbelief. When the truth manifests and the Hereafter arrives, every soul will see with absolute certainty who was the misguided and deluded one.

Take comfort, dear reader – when you stand firm upon the Qur'an and the Sunnah, the passage of time will always expose the falsehood of the accusers. The honor of this world and the success of the Hereafter belong to the truthful, not to those who slander them. So hold fast to your faith with patience and certainty, for Allah's promise is true, and the end is always for the righteous.
