Surah Al-Haqqah — Verse 26

Explanation of the Verse:

This verse continues the lament of the one who receives his book of deeds in his left hand on the Day of Judgment. After crying out, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my book!" he adds in utter despair and confusion: "And I did not know what my account was."

This is a cry of complete bewilderment — he realizes that he never truly understood the gravity of the reckoning that awaited him. In his worldly life, he was heedless of the consequences of his actions. He never reflected on the fact that every deed, word, and thought would be weighed and accounted for. The Qur'an was sent down precisely so that you would not be among those who say, "I did not know." Let this verse be a wake-up call: know your Lord now, know His commands now, and know that every moment of your life is being recorded. The door of repentance is open — seize it before the door of return is shut forever.
