📜

Translation — Tafsir

Word Meanings:

  • Muh'ti'een (مُهْطِعِينَ): Rushing forward hastily, stretching their necks toward something, with their eyes fixed intently upon it, and not looking away.

Tafsir (Explanation):

What is the matter with these disbelievers, O Messenger, that they rush toward you so frantically and with such haste? They stretch their necks toward you, fix their gazes upon you, and gather around you from the right and the left—scattered groups and clusters—whispering among themselves, staring in wonder, and reacting with denial and mockery. What drives them to this frantic behavior? Is it that each one of them hopes to be admitted into the Garden of everlasting bliss? No, that is not how it will be! They will never enter it, for they have rejected the path that leads to it. Indeed, We created them from a humble, despised fluid—just like all of humanity—so from where do they presume to claim such honor and privilege? They have not believed in their Creator, nor in His Messenger, nor in the Day of Recompense, so how could they aspire to the highest reward?

A Call to Reflection:

Ponder, dear reader, over the state of those who reject the truth. They run and rush with restless energy, yet their running is in vain—for they hasten toward that which brings them no benefit, while turning away from the very source of their salvation. How beautiful is the state of the believer who walks calmly toward his Lord, with a tranquil heart and a clear purpose! Allah invites you to be among those who rush—not toward denial—but toward mercy, forgiveness, and eternal bliss. Open your heart to this Quran, and let it guide you to the straight path, for the doors of repentance are wide open, and the mercy of your Lord encompasses all things. Do not be like those who hasten toward their own ruin while the Garden calls out to them from afar.
