Key Words and Phrases:
- As-Sūr (الصور): The Trumpet/ Horn that will be blown by the Angel Isrāfīl. It is not an ordinary horn; it is a divine instrument of immense power, the sound of which will shatter the universe and then, with the second blow, resurrect all of humanity.
- Afwājan (أفواجًا): Multitudes, groups, or crowds. It implies coming in separate, distinct throngs, not as a single chaotic mass.
The Interpretation:
On that Day of Decision, the Day of Reckoning that was decreed from eternity, the Angel Isrāfīl will be commanded to blow into the Trumpet. This is the second blow—the Blast of Resurrection. At that moment, the earth will split open, and you will all rise from your graves, not as a single, indistinguishable crowd, but as distinct groups (afwājan). You will come forth in multitudes, each community gathered with its own leaders, its own prophets, or its own tyrants whom they followed. Every nation will be herded towards the Grand Assembly (Al-Mawqif) for the final judgment.
This scene is one of absolute awe and total submission. No one will be able to refuse, delay, or hide. The One who created you from a single drop of fluid is fully capable of bringing you back to life, and He will do so with perfect order and justice. This is a moment that calls for profound reflection: if you believe in this inevitable gathering, then prepare for it. Do not be among those who are gathered with the disbelievers; strive instead to be among the righteous groups who will be summoned with honor and light. The Trumpet is the ultimate wake-up call—heed it before it is blown, and return to your Lord with a sincere heart, so that when you are raised, you are raised among the people of Paradise.
