Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- Al-Fujjār (الْفُجَّارَ): The wicked, the immoral, those who break away from obedience to Allah and commit sins openly. It refers to those who reject faith and persist in transgression.
- La-fī (لَفِي): Indeed, certainly in — emphasizing the certainty of their state.
- Jaḥīm (جَحِيم): A blazing, fiercely burning fire — one of the names of Hell, signifying its intense heat and torment.
Tafsir (Explanation):
Allah, the Most High, declares with absolute certainty that the wicked — those who neglected the rights of Allah and the rights of His servants, who rejected the truth and persisted in sin and disbelief — will be in a blazing Hellfire on the Day of Recompense. This fire will scorch them with its flames, and they will never be absent from its torment — neither by escaping nor by death. They will not find any way out, nor will they be granted relief, for the punishment is everlasting and inescapable.
The verse serves as a powerful contrast to the fate of the righteous mentioned just before it, reminding us that every soul will reap what it has sown. The wicked, who lived their lives in heedlessness and rebellion, will face the burning reality of their choices — a fire that never dies and a torment that never ceases.
A Call to Reflection and Action:
Dear reader, this verse is not merely a warning — it is a mercy from your Lord, sent to awaken your heart before it is too late. Allah does not wish to punish you; He wishes to save you. He has told you the end of the wicked so that you may choose a different path — the path of faith, repentance, and good deeds. The door of repentance is open until the moment your soul reaches your throat. So turn to Allah now, with a sincere heart, and ask Him to guide you to His straight path. For He is the Most Merciful, the Oft-Forgiving, and He delights in the repentance of His servants. Do not let the fire of Jaḥīm be your destiny when the gardens of Paradise are waiting for those who believe and do righteous deeds. Choose wisely, for the choice is yours — and the time is now.
