Surah Ar-Ra'd — Verse 8

Explanation of the Verse:

Allah—the All-Knowing, the All-Wise—declares His absolute and perfect knowledge of every detail concerning the unborn child. He knows what every female carries in her womb: whether it is male or female, complete or deficient in form, white or black, one, two, or more. Nothing about the fetus is hidden from Him—not its sustenance, its lifespan, its deeds, or whether it will be among the blessed or the wretched.

He also knows what the wombs decrease—meaning a pregnancy that ends before the full nine months, resulting in a premature birth or a miscarriage—and what they increase, meaning a pregnancy that extends beyond the usual term. This includes every variation in the embryo's health, strength, or weakness. All of this is known to Him with perfect clarity, without any guesswork or uncertainty.

Furthermore, everything in existence—whether related to the womb or to the entire universe—is measured and decreed by Allah with a precise, fixed measure. Nothing exceeds that measure, and nothing falls short of it. Every creation, every event, every breath is governed by His divine decree and infinite wisdom.

Dear reader, pause and reflect on this magnificent truth: the One who knows the unseen depths of every womb, who tracks the growth of every cell and the timing of every birth, is the same Lord who watches over you. If His knowledge encompasses the smallest details of a hidden embryo, how much more does He know your struggles, your prayers, and your needs?

This verse invites you to place your trust in Allah alone. He is the One who has already written your provision, your lifespan, and your destiny with perfect measure. Nothing in your life is random or accidental—every joy, every trial, and every blessing comes from His wise decree. So, turn to Him with a tranquil heart, for the One who knows all things is the Most Merciful, the Most Loving. Let this certainty fill you with peace and draw you closer to His guidance, for in His knowledge lies your ultimate security, and in His decree lies your greatest good.
