Explanation of the Verse:
O Messenger, your Lord — and He alone — is the One Who will gather all of humanity on the Day of Resurrection, from the first to the last, from the depths of the earth to the peaks of the mountains. He will bring them together in one plain for the final reckoning, to reward the doer of good for his goodness and the doer of evil for his evil. None will be left behind, none will be forgotten, and none will escape His summons.
Indeed, your Lord is Hakeem — Wise in all His actions and decrees. He does not gather them aimlessly or without purpose; rather, His wisdom dictates that justice must be established, and every soul must be recompensed for what it has earned. And He is ‘Aleem — All-Knowing of every soul, its deeds, its intentions, and its hidden secrets. Nothing is concealed from Him, not even the weight of an atom in the heavens or the earth.
So let not the disbelievers think that their denial will go unanswered, nor let the believers doubt that their patience will be unrewarded. The One Who created them is fully capable of bringing them back, and His wisdom and knowledge guarantee that the final outcome will be perfect justice and absolute fairness.
A Call to Reflection and Faith:
This verse fills the believer’s heart with tranquility and hope. It reminds us that this worldly life is not the end — there is a greater appointment awaiting us, where every drop of sweat shed in obedience, every tear of repentance, and every act of kindness will be brought forth. It also serves as a solemn warning to those who persist in wrongdoing: you may feel secure today, but the One Who knows all and judges with perfect wisdom will certainly call you to account.
Let this certainty shape your life: live with the awareness that you are always in the sight of the All-Knowing, and that your Lord’s wisdom is greater than your limited understanding. Trust Him, submit to His decree, and hasten to do good — for the gathering is real, the reckoning is certain, and His promise is true. What a beautiful religion that connects the believer’s heart to such a majestic and just Lord!
