Word Meanings:

  • Nasad (نَصَبٌ): Weariness, fatigue, exhaustion, or any form of hardship that affects the body or mind.
  • Yamassuhum (يَمَسُّهُمْ): To touch or afflict; here it means that no harm or discomfort will reach them.
  • Mukhrajīn (مُخْرَجِين): Those who are taken out or expelled from a place.

Explanation of the Verse:

This verse paints a breathtaking picture of the eternal bliss that awaits the righteous. After describing the gardens of Paradise with their flowing rivers and the pure, serene state of its inhabitants—their hearts cleansed of all rancor and envy, seated on adorned couches, faces beaming with joy and mutual love—Allah now assures them of two ultimate blessings that complete their happiness.

First, "No fatigue shall touch them therein" — In Paradise, there is absolutely no weariness, no tiredness, no exhaustion. Unlike the life of this world where every joy is followed by fatigue, every effort is met with tiredness, and every pleasure can drain one's energy, Paradise is a realm of perpetual freshness and vitality. The body never aches, the mind never tires, and the soul never grows weary. Every moment is filled with pure, unending delight.

Second, "Nor shall they ever be expelled from it" — This is the seal of eternal happiness. The dwellers of Paradise will never leave it, never be removed from it, and never face the threat of losing what they have. Their stay is everlasting, their joy is permanent, and their security is absolute. This is the complete opposite of the worldly life, where every blessing is temporary and every joy is shadowed by the possibility of loss.

Together, these two guarantees—perfect rest and eternal residence—form the essence of ultimate success. The believer who strives in this world, who endures its hardships and overcomes its trials, is promised a destination where rest is unbroken and departure is impossible.

A Call to the Heart:

Dear seeker of truth, let this verse ignite within you a longing for that eternal home. The hardships you face today—the tiredness of your limbs in worship, the fatigue of your heart in patience, the exhaustion of your soul in striving against your desires—are all temporary. They are the price of a ticket to a place where tiredness is unknown and departure is impossible.

Imagine a life where you never feel exhausted, where your energy never fades, and where you are secure forever, never fearing that your happiness might end. This is not a fantasy; it is the promise of the Most Merciful to those who obey Him. So, endure the brief struggles of this world with patience and hope, for the eternal rest that awaits is beyond anything your heart can imagine. Let your faith be your guide, and let your deeds be your provision for that everlasting journey.

📜 Verse 46-50 — Al-Hijr

[Having been told], "Enter it in peace, safe [and secure]."
And We will remove whatever is in their breasts of resentment, [so they will be] brothers, on thrones facing each other.
No fatigue will touch them therein, nor from it will they [ever] be removed.
[O Muhammad], inform My servants that it is I who am the Forgiving, the Merciful.
And that it is My punishment which is the painful punishment.
