Tafsir (Explanation):
Allah, in His infinite mercy and wisdom, draws our attention to the cattle He has created — camels, cows, and sheep — and declares that He created them specifically for our benefit, O humanity. Reflect on this: these animals are not random creatures; they are a divine gift tailored to human needs.
From their wool, fur, and hair, you derive warmth — clothing to shield you from biting cold, tents and coverings for shelter in harsh environments. This alone is a profound blessing, yet it does not stop there. There are countless other benefits: their milk nourishes you, their skins provide leather for your use, their backs carry you and your goods across long distances, and their offspring multiply to sustain your herds. And from them, you eat — their meat is a source of sustenance and delight.
Every single aspect of these animals points to a Creator who knows exactly what His creation needs. The warmth you feel in winter, the milk you drink in the morning, the meat on your table — all of it is a tangible sign of Allah's care for you. He did not create these creatures for their own sake alone, but made them subservient to you as a means of survival, comfort, and gratitude.
Let this verse awaken your heart: if Allah has provided such detailed care for your physical well-being, how much greater is His care for your spiritual guidance? He who gave you warmth from wool and food from cattle has also sent you the warmth of faith and the nourishment of revelation. So, look at the livestock around you and see not just animals, but living lessons of divine generosity. Praise your Lord, thank Him, and let every sip of milk and every garment you wear remind you of His boundless love for you. Islam calls you to recognize these signs — not to worship the creation, but to know and worship the Creator, who has left nothing to chance and everything to mercy.
