Explanation of the Verse:
This verse captures the mocking words of the disbelieving leaders of Quraysh, who were addressing their followers regarding the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his call to monotheism and the belief in the Hereafter. They said, in utter disbelief and ridicule: "Does this man – who claims to be a messenger from Allah – really promise you that after you die and become dust and decayed bones, you will be brought forth from your graves alive once again?"
They posed this as an impossible, absurd proposition, thinking that resurrection after complete decomposition is beyond reason and capability. Their question was not a genuine inquiry seeking truth, but rather a sarcastic rejection of the divine promise of resurrection. They considered it inconceivable that the Creator who originated life from nothing could restore it after death.
Yet, in their mockery, they inadvertently highlighted the very miracle of Allah's power. The One who created the heavens and the earth, who brought every living being into existence from a drop of fluid, who causes the dead earth to spring forth with vegetation after rain – is He not able to bring the dead back to life? Indeed, His power knows no limits, and the resurrection is easier for Him than the original creation.
A Call to Reflection and Faith:
Dear reader, ponder deeply upon this scene. The disbelievers of old mocked the idea of resurrection because their hearts were sealed to the truth and their minds were confined to what their senses could perceive. But you – endowed with intellect and insight – are invited to look beyond the surface. The very fact that you exist today, after having been nothing, is the greatest proof that your return to life after death is not only possible but certain.
Do not let the whispers of doubt, like those of the disbelievers, distance you from the truth. The resurrection is not a fairy tale; it is a divine promise from the Lord of all worlds, who never breaks His word. Embrace this truth with certainty, and let it transform your life into a journey of purpose and righteousness. For on that Day, every soul shall be recompensed for what it earned – and the gardens of Paradise await those who believed and did good deeds, while the fire awaits those who denied and turned away.
Let this verse be a reminder that the Hereafter is nearer to you than you think, and that the wise are those who prepare for it while they still have the chance.
