Tafsir (Explanation):
This verse takes us to a breathtaking scene of divine wisdom unfolding in the life of Prophet Musa (peace be upon him). After his mother placed him in the river, trusting in Allah’s promise, the baby was found by Pharaoh’s family. They brought him to their palace, but Allah had already decreed a magnificent plan: He made all wet nurses forbidden for Musa — no woman’s milk would satisfy him, no matter how many were brought. This was not a random occurrence; it was a divine arrangement to reunite the child with his own mother, so that she could nurse him in safety and peace, without anyone suspecting her true identity.
At that moment, Musa’s sister, who had been following the situation from afar, saw her opportunity. She stepped forward and said to Pharaoh’s household: "Shall I guide you to a family that will nurse him for you and be sincere well-wishers to him?" She spoke with wisdom and composure, not revealing her relationship to the child. She presented the idea as a practical solution to their problem — a family that would care for him lovingly and faithfully. The household agreed, and thus the baby was returned to his mother’s arms, her heart was comforted, and Allah’s promise was fulfilled.
This verse is a profound reminder that Allah’s plans are always perfect, even when circumstances seem chaotic. The very people who sought to destroy Musa became the means of his protection, and his mother’s greatest fear turned into her greatest blessing. Allah says elsewhere: *"Indeed, with hardship comes ease"* (94:6). When you trust Allah, He opens doors you never imagined and turns enemies into caretakers.
For us today, this story teaches us to have unwavering faith in Allah’s wisdom. When life seems confusing, when doors close, or when we face trials, remember that Allah is the Best of Planners. He knows what we do not know. The same situation that appears to be a calamity may be the very vessel of His mercy. So hold on to patience and prayer, and never lose hope — for the One who reunited a baby with his mother across a river, a palace, and a sea of uncertainty is the same Lord who watches over your affairs this very moment.
