Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- تُرْجَعُ: are returned, referred, or brought back.
- الأُمُورُ: all affairs, matters, and commands.
Tafsir (Explanation):
To Allah alone belongs everything that exists in the heavens and everything that exists on the earth. He is the sole Owner, Creator, and Manager of all creation—nothing lies outside His dominion, and no being shares in His sovereignty. He brought everything into existence, and He sustains and governs it with perfect wisdom.
Moreover, the final destination of all affairs is to Allah alone. Every matter—whether great or small, hidden or apparent—will ultimately return to Him on the Day of Judgment. At that time, He will judge every soul with absolute justice, rewarding the righteous for their good deeds and holding the wrongdoers accountable for their evil actions. No one will escape His reckoning, and no one will be treated unjustly.
This verse instills in the believer a profound sense of accountability and trust. When you realize that everything belongs to Allah and that all matters return to Him, your heart finds peace in surrendering to His will, and your soul becomes vigilant in striving for His pleasure. It reminds you that this worldly life is temporary, and the true, everlasting life is with Him. So, live each moment with the awareness that your deeds are seen by the One who owns all, and your ultimate success lies in returning to Him with a pure heart.
