Surah Saba — Verse 48

Word Meanings:

• Yaqdhifu bil-haqq (يَقْذِفُ بِالْحَقِّ): He hurls or casts the truth — meaning He strikes falsehood with truth, overwhelming and destroying it.
• ʿAllām ul-ghuyūb (عَلَّامُ الْغُيُوبِ): The All-Knower of the unseen — He who knows everything hidden, concealed, and beyond human perception, in the heavens and the earth.

Tafsir (Explanation):

O Messenger, say to those who deny the Oneness of Allah and reject the message of Islam: "Indeed, my Lord hurls the truth against falsehood, striking it down and obliterating it. He sends His revelation — the Qur’an and its verses — as a decisive force that exposes falsehood, shatters its arguments, and eradicates it completely." This is a declaration of Allah’s supreme power: He does not leave falsehood to prevail, but rather casts the light of truth upon it, and falsehood vanishes like foam upon the surface of water. And He — glorified be He — is the All-Knower of the unseen; nothing in the heavens or the earth is hidden from Him, nor are the deeds of His servants concealed from His knowledge. He knows what was, what is, and what will be, and He knows the secrets of hearts and the whispers of souls.

This verse carries a profound and comforting message for every believer: truth is not merely a concept — it is a living force that Allah Himself champions. When you stand for truth, you stand with the Lord of the heavens and the earth, who has promised to make it prevail over falsehood, no matter how powerful falsehood may seem. The One who knows all that is hidden — your struggles, your sincere intentions, your silent prayers — is the very One who hurls truth against falsehood on your behalf. So take heart, dear believer: never let the noise of falsehood shake your certainty. Cling to the Qur’an, for it is the truth that never fails, and trust in the All-Knower who sees your efforts and will surely grant victory to His truth in His perfect time. This is the beauty of Islam — a religion that anchors your heart in certainty, lifts your soul with hope, and promises you that the final word belongs to truth alone.
