- Salāmun (سَلَامٌ): Peace, safety, and security; a greeting of honor and protection from all harm.
- Nūḥ (نُوحٍ): Prophet Noah (peace be upon him), the first major Messenger sent to humanity after Adam.
- Fī al-ʿĀlamīn (فِي الْعَالَمِينَ): Among all the worlds — meaning all of creation, including humans, jinn, and angels, across all generations until the end of time.
Tafsir (Explanation):
This verse is a divine declaration of honor and protection for Prophet Noah (peace be upon him). Allah, the Most High, proclaims that Noah will forever be remembered with peace, safety, and praise — never with any word of blame or disgrace. From this moment onward, throughout all generations and nations, Noah is granted an everlasting legacy of honor: every tongue that mentions him does so with respect, and every heart that learns of his story holds him in high esteem. He is not merely remembered; he is celebrated as a patient, steadfast servant of Allah who endured immense hardship for centuries, calling his people to monotheism with unwavering faith.
This peace is not limited to his lifetime — it extends to all worlds, meaning that angels, believers, and even the natural order recognize his elevated station. His name is eternally linked with mercy and divine approval. The verse also implies that Allah Himself established this greeting of peace for Noah, making it a permanent tradition among the prophets and the righteous who follow in his footsteps. It is a reward for his unparalleled patience and his complete submission to Allah's command, even when his own son rejected the faith and his people mocked him.
A Da'wah Reflection:
This verse carries a profound lesson for every believer: true honor does not come from wealth, status, or worldly recognition — it comes from Allah's pleasure. Noah (peace be upon him) was ridiculed and rejected by his people for 950 years, yet Allah elevated his name to the highest heavens. Today, billions of people across the world — Muslims, Christians, and Jews alike — speak of Noah with reverence, while the tyrants who opposed him are forgotten or remembered only with disdain. This is Allah's promise: those who stand firm for the truth, even when alone, will be granted a legacy of honor that transcends time and place. Let this inspire you to remain patient and steadfast in your faith, knowing that Allah sees your struggles and will raise your name in ways you cannot imagine — in this life and the next. And what greater honor is there than to be greeted with peace by the Lord of all worlds?
