Surah Sad — Verse 84

• فَالْحَقُّ (fa-al-ḥaqq): "So the truth" — meaning the truth is from Me (Allah), or it can be understood as an oath affirming the truth.

Explanation of the Verse:

In this noble verse, Allah — Glorified and Exalted — responds to Iblis (Satan) after his arrogant refusal to prostrate to Adam and his defiant request to be given respite until the Day of Resurrection. Allah declares: "The truth is from Me, and I speak nothing but the truth." This is a solemn affirmation that His decree is absolute, His word is final, and His promise is certain. The verse carries a dual emphasis: first, that truth itself originates from Allah alone, and second, that whatever He says is the purest truth, free from any falsehood, doubt, or change.
