Translation — Tafsir

Word Meanings:

(Siraatan): A clear path or way.
(Mustaqeeman): Straight, upright, and free from deviation or crookedness.

Tafsir (Explanation):

This verse concludes a sequence of divine promises to those who sincerely obey Allah and follow His guidance. After mentioning that if the hypocrites had truly responded to the call of faith—even to the extent of sacrificing their lives or leaving their homes—they would have reaped immense benefits, Allah declares: "And We would have guided them to a straight path."

This means that Allah would have granted them the ability to walk firmly on the path of truth, righteousness, and unwavering faith. The "straight path" here refers to the path that leads directly to Allah’s pleasure, His Paradise, and eternal success. It is a path illuminated by knowledge, purified by sincerity, and protected from the pitfalls of misguidance and sin.

The verse carries a profound lesson: obedience to Allah is not a burden but a gateway to divine favor. When a person submits wholeheartedly to Allah’s commands—even those that seem difficult—Allah rewards them with clarity, inner peace, and steadfastness. This guidance is not merely intellectual but a practical, spiritual light that keeps the believer firm in every trial.

A Da'wah Reflection:

Dear reader, this verse is a beautiful reminder that Allah’s guidance is the greatest treasure one can attain. It is not earned through worldly wealth or status, but through sincere submission and trust in Him. When you strive to obey Allah—even in small matters—He opens doors of wisdom and righteousness for you. The "straight path" is not a distant dream; it is a reality for those who turn to Allah with a pure heart. So, do not hesitate to follow His commands, for every step of obedience brings you closer to His love, His guidance, and ultimately, His eternal reward. Let this verse inspire you to seek that straight path with sincerity, and trust that Allah will never abandon those who sincerely seek Him.

📜 Verse 66-70 — An-Nisa

And if We had decreed upon them, "Kill yourselves" or "Leave your homes," they would not have done it, except for a few of them. But if they had done what they were instructed, it would have been better for them and a firmer position [for them in faith].
And then We would have given them from Us a great reward.
And We would have guided them to a straight path.
And whoever obeys Allah and the Messenger - those will be with the ones upon whom Allah has bestowed favor of the prophets, the steadfast affirmers of truth, the martyrs and the righteous. And excellent are those as companions.
That is the bounty from Allah, and sufficient is Allah as Knower.
