Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- Tadhkurūn (تَذْكُرُونَ): You will remember, recall, or be reminded.
- Ufawwiḍ (أُفَوِّضُ): I entrust, delegate, or commit my affair.
- Baṣīr (بَصِيرٌ): All-Seeing, fully aware of all things, nothing escaping His knowledge.
Tafsir (Explanation):
After this believing man from the family of Pharaoh had delivered his sincere counsel to his people, urging them to follow the truth brought by Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) and warning them against the punishment of Allah, they rejected his advice and persisted in their arrogance and denial. So he turned to them with these profound words, leaving them with a final reminder and then placing his complete trust in his Lord.
He said: "You will soon remember what I am telling you now." This is a powerful statement of certainty — when the punishment descends upon them, when the reality of their actions becomes clear, and when the consequences of their rejection manifest, they will recall every word of sincere advice he gave them. At that moment, regret will overwhelm them, but it will be too late. The remembrance of truth at the hour of calamity brings only sorrow, not benefit.
Then he declared: "And I entrust my affair to Allah." This is the essence of Tawakkul — complete reliance upon Allah. He did not depend on his own strength, eloquence, or position. He did not fear their power or their threats. Instead, he submitted his entire situation to the One who controls all affairs, the One who is sufficient for those who put their trust in Him. This is the station of the true believer: when faced with opposition and hostility, he turns to Allah with full confidence, knowing that Allah's plan is perfect.
He concluded: "Indeed, Allah is All-Seeing of His servants." Nothing is hidden from Allah — not the sincerity of the believer's advice, not the arrogance of the disbelievers, not the secret intentions of hearts, nor the deeds that will be weighed on the Day of Judgment. This statement carries both reassurance and warning: reassurance for the believer that Allah sees his efforts and will reward him, and warning for the disbelievers that Allah sees their rejection and will hold them accountable.
A Call to Reflection:
Dear reader, ponder the beauty of this verse. Here was a man standing alone against the might of Pharaoh's court, yet his words carry no fear, no hesitation — only certainty and peace. This is the fruit of true faith. When you entrust your affairs to Allah, your heart finds rest even in the most difficult circumstances. The believer knows that victory does not come from numbers or power, but from Allah's support.
This verse teaches us a timeless lesson: speak the truth sincerely, then leave the results to Allah. Do not be distressed when people reject your advice or mock your words. Your duty is only to convey with sincerity; the guidance is in Allah's hands. And remember — Allah sees everything. He sees your tears in the night, your patience in hardship, your efforts in calling to goodness. Nothing is wasted with Him.
So, dear Muslim, strengthen your connection with Allah. Make Him your refuge in every matter, great and small. Say with full conviction: "I entrust my affair to Allah" — and you will find peace that surpasses all understanding. For indeed, Allah is All-Seeing of His servants, and He never abandons those who rely upon Him.
