Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- النَّشْأَةَ (An-Nash'ah): The act of creation, bringing something into existence, or raising something anew.
- الْأُخْرَى (Al-Ukhrā): The other, the second, or the final one — referring to the Hereafter.
Explanation of the Verse:
This verse affirms a profound and reassuring truth: that upon Allah alone rests the responsibility and power of the second creation — the resurrection of all beings after their death. Just as He originated creation from nothing in the beginning, He is fully capable of recreating it for the Day of Judgment. This is not a matter of doubt or uncertainty, but a divine promise that is certain to occur. The verse reminds us that the same Almighty Lord who brought us into existence from a mere drop of fluid will not abandon us to dust and oblivion. Rather, He will raise us anew, body and soul, to stand before Him for ultimate justice and recompense.
This is a call to reflect on the power of Allah, which knows no limits. The One who created the heavens and the earth, the sun and the moon, the living and the dead — He is the One who will bring forth every human being from their graves. The first creation is a clear proof of the second. If He could create us once from nothing, then recreating us is even easier for Him. This verse instills in the believer a sense of accountability and hope: accountability, because we know we will return to our Lord; and hope, because we know that His mercy and justice will prevail on that Day. So let us live our lives with the awareness that this worldly life is not the end — it is merely a journey toward an eternal destination, where every deed, big or small, will be weighed and rewarded.
