Word Meanings:

  • Khalaqnākum (خَلَقْنَاكُمْ): We created you, brought you into existence from nothing.
  • Falawlā (فَلَوْلَا): Why not? / If not, then why? — a rhetorical question used for gentle reproach and urging.
  • Tuṣaddiqūn (تُصَدِّقُونَ): You believe, you affirm as true.

Explanation of the Verse:

O people, reflect deeply upon your own origin! We — and We alone — created you from absolute nothingness. You did not exist, and then you came into being by Our will and power. You had no hand in your own creation, nor did any other being share in bringing you to life. So if you truly acknowledge this undeniable fact — that you were created from nothing — then why do you not believe in the resurrection and the life after death?

The very same Power that brought you into existence from non-existence is fully capable of bringing you back to life after your death. The One who originated creation can certainly repeat it. Your own existence is the greatest proof of Allah's infinite ability. Every breath you take, every heartbeat, every cell in your body testifies to the might of your Creator.

So, O dear reader, let this simple truth awaken your heart: if Allah could create you from nothing, then returning you to life after death is even easier for Him. Do not let doubt cloud your certainty. Open your eyes to the signs all around you and within you. Your creation is not a random accident — it is a deliberate act of the Most Wise, the Most Powerful, and He has not created you in vain. He will surely bring you back to account for your deeds, to reward the righteous and recompense the wrongdoers.

Let this verse be a call to your soul: believe in the Hereafter, prepare for it, and live a life that pleases your Creator. For He who gave you life the first time has promised to give you life again — and His promise is true.

We have created you, so why do you not believe?

Have you seen that which you emit?
59أَأَنتُمْ تَخْلُقُونَهُ أَمْ نَحْنُ الْخَالِقُونَ
Is it you who creates it, or are We the Creator?
