Tafsir (Explanation):
O Messenger, declare to those who associate partners with Allah and devote their worship to idols, the dead, or other false deities: My prayer, my sacrifice, my life, and my death — all of it belongs to Allah alone, the Lord of all creation. I do not pray to anyone but Him, nor do I slaughter my offerings to anyone but Him, nor do I live or die for anyone but Him. My entire existence — every breath, every action, every intention — is devoted to His service, and my death is a return to Him, knowing that He alone gives life and takes it away. This is the essence of pure monotheism: that a believer’s whole being is surrendered to Allah, with no partner, no rival, and no intermediary. Just as my life is lived in obedience to Him, my death is a testament to my faith in Him, and my sacrifice is an act of gratitude and submission to His command. This verse teaches us that true devotion is not limited to rituals — it encompasses every moment of our lives and even our final departure from this world. When a Muslim internalizes this, their heart becomes free from the shackles of worldly desires and false gods, and they find peace in knowing that their ultimate purpose is to please Allah alone. Let this be a call to every believer: purify your intentions, dedicate your actions, and surrender your entire being to the One who created you, for He is worthy of all praise and worship.
