Translation — Tafsir
Word Meanings:
- "ʿīshah" (عِيشَةٍ): A life, livelihood, or manner of living.
- "Rāḍiyah" (رَاضِيَةٍ): Pleasing, satisfying, or content; a life that brings full satisfaction and delight to its possessor.
Tafsir (Explanation):
After the believer receives their book of deeds in their right hand on the Day of Judgment—filled with joy and pride, declaring, "Take and read my record! I was certain I would meet my reckoning"—their ultimate reward is described here: they will be in a life that is truly pleasing and satisfying.
This is not merely a life free of hardship; it is a life that is *radically* good—one that brings complete inner peace, joy, and fulfillment to the soul. It is a life in the highest gardens of Paradise, where fruits hang low and within easy reach, whether one is standing, sitting, or reclining. They will be told: "Eat and drink in health and safety, far from all harm and distress." This bliss is the direct fruit of the faith and righteous deeds they sent ahead in the worldly life.
A Da'wah Reflection:
Imagine a life where every single moment is pure contentment—no worry, no regret, no fatigue, no end. That is the promise of your Lord for those who believed and did good. This verse is an invitation to plant the seeds of that eternal satisfaction today. Every act of kindness, every prayer, every moment of patience in this world is not lost—it is being stored for a life that will never disappoint. So let your heart yearn for this "pleasing life," and let that yearning move your hands and feet to actions that will bring you to it. Your Lord is not only Just but Generous—He gives a life of delight to those who gave Him their hearts.
