- Tadhkirah (تَذْكِرَةٌ): A reminder, an admonition, or a counsel that awakens the heart and stirs the conscience.
Explanation of the Verse:
This verse comes as a decisive and powerful rebuke to those who turned away from the Qur'an, dismissing it as mere human words or sorcery. Allah responds: "No indeed!" — meaning, it is not as you claim, nor is your turning away acceptable. Then He affirms the true nature of this divine revelation: "Indeed, it is a reminder." The Qur'an is not an ordinary book; it is a living admonition, a profound counsel that calls every soul to wakefulness. It reminds humanity of their Creator, their purpose, their destiny, and the straight path that leads to eternal success.
This reminder is complete and sufficient in itself — it needs no addition, no human embellishment, and no external proof beyond its own miraculous truth. Whoever sincerely seeks guidance will find in it everything they need: clarity in confusion, light in darkness, and healing for the heart's ailments. The Qur'an addresses the intellect, stirs the emotions, and guides the will toward what is right and beneficial. It is a mercy that Allah has placed before His servants, and its doors of wisdom remain open to every seeker of truth.
A Call to Reflection:
Dear reader, this verse is a gentle yet firm invitation to you. The Qur'an is not a relic of the past — it is a timeless reminder speaking directly to your heart today. Every verse you read is a light illuminating your path, every command is a key to your happiness, and every prohibition is a shield protecting you from harm. Allah has made this Book easy for remembrance, so do not turn away from it.
