Key Words and Their Meanings:

  • Al-Sulb (الصُّلْب): The backbone or spine of a man, specifically the hard, solid part of the back.
  • Al-Tara'ib (التَّرَائِب): The plural of *Tariabah*, referring to the bones of the chest or ribcage, particularly associated with a woman's upper chest area.

Explanation of the Verse:

This verse continues the divine call for the human being to reflect upon his own origin, especially the one who denies the Resurrection. Allah asks him to consider: From what was he created? He was created from a fluid that gushes forth with force and speed, pouring into the womb. This fluid emerges from between the man's backbone and the woman's chest bones.

This is a profound sign of Allah's perfect wisdom and precise design. The union of these two distinct sources—the male's spinal column and the female's ribcage—produces a new life, a miracle that unfolds in the hidden depths of the mother's womb. The One who brought forth this living being from such a humble beginning, with such intricate precision, is certainly capable of bringing him back to life after death. Indeed, the power that created from nothing is far greater than the power that merely restores what already existed.

A Call to Reflection and Faith:

Dear reader, pause for a moment and contemplate this magnificent reality. You, with all your intelligence, ambitions, and dreams, began as a tiny drop of fluid, emerging from a place you never saw and through a process you never controlled. Your creation was not a random accident; it was a deliberate act of the Most Merciful, the All-Wise.

If you truly understand this, how can you doubt that the One who fashioned you from this humble beginning can bring you back to life after your bones have crumbled into dust? The One who created you the first time is the absolute Master of creation. He does not need to strive or struggle; He merely says to a thing, "Be," and it is.

Let this reflection fill your heart with humility and gratitude. You are not a self-made being; you are a creation of a Loving Lord who has honored you with existence. Do not waste this precious gift by turning away from your Creator. Instead, turn to Him, submit to His will, and live a life that pleases Him. For the same power that brought you into being from a mere drop is the power that will resurrect you, and it is the same power that will reward you with eternal bliss if you believe and do good deeds. Embrace this truth, and you will find peace in this life and salvation in the next.
